After a rather hectic time in the last week changing the Sydney venue because the original venue could not hold the numbers, we had a good turn out of about 90 people. Thanks to Carol for ringing everyone she could to make sure they were aware of the change of venue.
Salvatore cut down the first section of his presentation this time on the Odoo philosophy and thus left more time to demonstrate the Odoo V10 features like the manufacturing. It is difficult to know where to pitch such a presentation as there may be people in the audience that know little about Odoo and there may be some who have tried the on-line SaaS version. In any case if any case if anyone had any tricky questions they can ask us or Salvatore at the end.
Inspired Solutions (Sydney partner) did the presentation first delivered by Chris White. Inspired Solutions have recently achieved silver Odoo partner status and are a great addition to the Australian Odoo partners and we look forward to collaborating with them in the "open source way". Chris's presentation was well received.
I then briefly introduced our audio-visual presentation firstly commenting on our collaboration with Inspired Solutions and the benefits of being part of a community. We received a spontaneous round of applause at the end of the WilldooIT presentation (which can be found here) which was gratifying as I spend sleepless nights over the last several days putting it together.
Some potential customers came up to me afterwards and it was very interesting talking to them about their requirements. I must say it is one of the best aspects of my job being able to meet people who have started their own business. I find it fascinating to learn what motivated them to start and how they built it to a successful enterprise. There really are some great stories out there that we never get to hear about.
So off to Brisbane now and new blog tomorrow.
